While Dr. Wade and Dr. Moody are cosmetic dentists, they also provides complete general and preventive dental services for families in the Frisco and Plano area. Your maintenance or re-call appointments give us the opportunity to stay on top of your oral health. By finding and addressing concerns in the earliest stage, we hope to save you from potential pain, expense, and invasive procedures later in life.
At your checkups, we’ll update your records with digital X-rays, intraoral and extraoral photos, and new health information. Dr. Wade will discuss your immediate concerns, like tooth pain, cosmetic issues, or faulty dental work. She’ll thoroughly evaluate your teeth, dental work, soft tissues, occlusion (how upper and lower teeth fit together), and jaw joints. She will also screen for oral cancer and gum disease. If you have any questions, your checkup is the perfect time to ask.
Also called a hygiene appointment, a dental cleaning is performed by a registered dental hygienist. In our Frisco, TX dental office, you’ll see the same hygienist at each cleaning visit so that you can develop a relationship with her. The hygienist will gently remove plaque, tartar, and debris from your teeth. She’ll evaluate your gum tissue, probing pockets and recording their depth for future reference. After the cleaning, the hygienist will polish your teeth to a beautiful shine. She will answer your questions about homecare procedures and products. If you have trouble choosing the right toothbrush or flossing effectively, your hygienist can help. Should you develop gum disease, which is extremely common, our hygienist will provide counsel and treatment to control the condition and restore optimal gum health.
Before your checkup is complete, Dr. Wade or Dr. Moody will explain their findings, make recommendations for treatment and explain your options. We have videos, models, and brochures to help you understand your options, and our team is always eager to answer questions and share information about dental treatment. The more you know about your oral health and options, the happier you’ll be with the decisions you make for treatment.
